At the same luminance, energy saving compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) save up to 80% electricity compared to incandescent light bulbs
Energy saving light bulbs should not be installed in dimming luminaires where they can easily be destroyed. Energy saving lamps are not suitable for very hot or humid environments (e.g. bathroom) nor for outdoor use.
There are special light bulbs for dimming, for hot and cold environments and for outdoor use.
If you are leaving the room for 10 minutes or longer, please switch off your lamps.
Switching on and off an energy saving lamp does not consume electricity . Moreover, most certified energy saving light bulbs have passed a switching test of much more than 10’000 times of switching on and off. Thus, switching has only a very limited impact on the life span of an energy saving light bulbs.
