3. Terms

Electricity cost (3000 cycles): The electricity cost of the washing machine after working for 3000 washing cycles, which is the typical lifetime washing cycles of a washing machine. The electricity price is set at 0.5 RMB/kWh. Unit: RMB.

Rate of washing ability: The indicator shows the quality of the washing machine’s washing service. The higher of the rate, the better.

Washing Capacity: The maximum weight of washed dried clothes of a washing cycle. Unit: kg.

Energy Consumption: The ratio between the Energy Consumption and the Washing Capacity. The lower of washing machine's electricity consumption per kilogram, the better. Unit: kWh/cycle/kg.

Water Consumption: The ratio between the Water Consumption and the Washing Capacity. The lower of washing machine’s water consumption per kilogram, the better. Unit: L/cycle/kg.

National energy efficiency grade: This is the mandatory grading system for energy using products to disclose the energy performance to the consumers. Grade 5 is the minimum energy efficiency requirement for the market access and Grade 1 is the best for the drum washing machine.
